These past few weeks I have been taking piano lessons again from my wonderful mother in law Jill. I took piano lessons when I was younger but never was able to progress much because our piano teacher stopped teaching and my parents didn't pursue getting another teacher for us.
I'm so glad I've decided to learn again. Being much older now, I have been better at paying more attention and taking it more seriously. I love the books Jill teaches out of. There are three of them, Technic, Theory, and The regular music book. They have been so helpful and more explanatory to what all of the different names and music symbols mean. I also use flashcard to help me memorize the notes and symbols and meanings.
Music has always been something that I absolutely love and have a passion for. I have always wanted to teach music and so this year I'm am really going to start trying to focus on getting comfortable enough, and qualified enough to pursue my dream! In the fall, I will be planning on going back to school to get my degree in music so I will feel more qualified to teach.
